Research as Innovation: An Invitation to Creative and Imaginative Inquiry Processes

Camargo-Borges, C.; McNamee, S. (2020). Research as Innovation: An Invitation to Creative and Imaginative Inquiry Processes.
Published at the book: The SAGE Handbook of Social Constructionist Practice, in which I had the pleasure to be one of the editors together with Sheila McNamee, Mary Gergen and Emerson Fernando Rasera.
The paper describes research as an innovative process. It starts by providing a brief overview of some of the main distinctions between the scientific research tradition and research as a process of social construction.  It then moves on to present social construction and research as innovation.  The chapter ends with illustrations of research approaches that fit squarely within the constructionist attempt to focus on relationality, participation, collaboration and the creation of potential and possibility.
