This is a paper about the first phase of the Imagineering design methodology, describing how to embrace an appreciative mindset leading to generative processes and outcomes. The paper invites the reader to engage with what is working well as a way to inspire and exponentially develop understanding and imaginative capacity of all involved actors in the system. That also means, taking old running conventions and traditional assumptions with appreciative eyes in order to look at them in fresh new ways. Illustrations will be provided to better understand this process. Several several creative tools will be described, to facilitate you getting many insights for your findings, which will form the material to craft the next phases of the design methodology.
